Dogs Cushings Disease

Is hypothyroidism associated with Cushing's disease in dogs?
My dog was diagnosed with low thyroid. Then we discovered that Cushing's disease has a steroid used to treat allergies. He has been off steroids for over 2 months now and is doing very well. If I double checked his thyroid (130 $ test) or are unrelated to these things?
You certainly had her thyroid function reassessed, if he is truly hypothyroid, it is necessary to synthetic thyroxine (thyroid hormone) for life. It a possibility, as Vet Tech said that low thyroid function was due to his Cushings-almost any disease can cause a condition called euthyroid sick syndrome, which means that although the thyroid gland is prefectly normal, inferior thyroid hormone is produced as an effect Live from the disease. Cushing as his was caused by steroids, rather than his body produces too much cortisol in Cushings should resolve over time. You said that's fine, I take to mean that the signs are Cushings resolve as expected. The important thing when you did is re-tested to ensure it is done as a free T4 (FT4) test. It's really the only practical test for diagnosing and accurate hypothyroidism. A total T4 (TT4) test can detect low thyroid hormone, but can not differentiate between euthyroid sick and hypothyroid true. A TSH test is not too helpful either, and I would not waste your money on it-then it should be higher than normal, up to 40% of dogs have normal levels hypot, and up to 20% of normal dogs have high levels. I hope that makes sense. If Please feel free to contact me if what I said is not clear.
